Wild Horses In California Series 2 by Barbara Snyder
Return to Freedom is dedicated to preserving the freedom, diversity, and habitat of America's wild horses through sanctuary, education, and conservation, while enriching the human spirit through direct experience with the natural world.
The sanctuary is located just South of Lompoc California in Santa Barbara County, California. It is about a one-hour drive north of the City of Santa Barbara.
The sanctuary has garnered entertainment celebrities, Robert Redford and Carole King. Both have visited the facility and have been active in fundraising.
They are currently home to about 350 horses. They are also actively involved in adopting the horse program.
Barbara Snyder Barbara Snyder lives on the Central Coast of California. As a California native she has always felt the allure of the great variety of natural features offered in her home state. Born in Santa Maria, California, Victoria graduated from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo as a history major, English minor. She earned her Master's degree in education from the same university and began a teaching career that has spanned over 3 decades. During that time photography has always been a part of her life and has been enhanced by the opportunities for summer travel and finding new subjects and interests to expand her photographic endeavors. .
