A Box of Antique Bottles by Barbara Snyder
The Kern River Valley Historical Society has been in operation for over 40 years. Our mission is to preserve and communicate the rich and colorful history of this region. To achieve these goals we have established the Kern Valley Museum in downtown Kernville next to the Post Office.
This is a box of old bottles that are part of a display in the Kernville Museum and may be typical of the bottles that might have been found in the time period that display was depicting. Some of them were the old bottles that were made of the old glass that turned blue or green with age.
Barbara Snyder Barbara Snyder lives on the Central Coast of California. As a California native she has always felt the allure of the great variety of natural features offered in her home state. Born in Santa Maria, California, Victoria graduated from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo as a history major, English minor. She earned her Master's degree in education from the same university and began a teaching career that has spanned over 3 decades. During that time photography has always been a part of her life and has been enhanced by the opportunities for summer travel and finding new subjects and interests to expand her photographic endeavors. .
