Remnants Of The Grapes Of Wrath John Steinbeck Quote
If you take River Road out of Soledad California and drive across the farm fields towards Carmel, you will see many remnants of the 1940 Steinbeck, Grapes of Wrath era. This is just one of them.
The owner of this old bard, back in the Grapes of Wrath era, housed his farm workers in this old barn and others on his property and he allowed them to take what ever food they needed to feed their families.
This old barn is still owned by the same family that has owned and farmed the land for over a hundred years.
I was by there a few weeks back (July of 2016) and the building has totally caved in from the center and only the extreme let and right walls are still standing.
