Morro Bay, California. The tourist town found on the Central Coast of California in San Luis Obispo California is how to one of the remaining working fleets along the coast.
If you walk out past Morro Rock you be able to get out onto the breakwater. However extreme caution is advised. This area is know for freak waves that even on a calm day can sweep over the breakwater and take hikers to a watery death.
From this view we are at the very end of the trail that goes past Morro Rock and I am looking north at the Morro Spit, a strip of land that forms a natural breakwater that states for the Los Osos, Baywood Park side of Morro Bay itself.
That is not really a hole in the clouds. It is single small white cloud that just happened to pass buy carried on a clod, stiff breeze and the storm clouds hung in place. It was sort of an eerie feeling.
Morro Bay is also a famous surfing beach where when the surfs up, dozens of suffers take to the boards and do their own version of Hanging Ten.
